Paid Preceptor Program
Experienced Huntington Hospital RNs are encouraged to become Preceptors to New Graduate RN Interns. To participate, you must be "certified" by attending a preceptor-training course provided by the Education Department, and also sign an agreement with your respective Nurse Manager attesting that you will provide adequate resources, do what is asked of you, and provide a higher level of preceptoring.

As a New Graduate RN Intern Preceptor you will be paid a total of $2,500.00 over a 13-month period.

LERN Program
If you are an experienced RN who assists in training a colleague who is not a New Graduate RN, you do not receive Preceptor pay but are eligible for LERN points.

One hundred LERN points are earned for every training hour that you provide (i.e. 12 hours = 1200 points). The points can be redeemed for seminar fees, nursing conferences, etc. Points are redeemed and approved through the Education Department.
